The public trust doctrine and Water Markets in BC
2011 April 25, by Chapter Council
We brought your attention to the possible introduction of Water Markets in BC, and what a bad idea that would be. We were also lucky enough to host Jim Olson, a prominent environmental lawyer and expert on the public trust doctrine. The presentation and discussion that followed was an eye-opener, so good that we decided to summarize it in a presentation we did recently. The presentation summarizes changes proposed to the BC water act, and suggests alternatives using the Public Trust Doctrine.
