The message was clear last night at a packed Victoria town hall meeting on the 2014 health accord: the provinces and federal government must work together to negotiate a new health accord that reflects Canadian values and addresses growing spending on for-profit care.

Diana GIbson of the Parkland Institute at the University of Alberta is a consummate policy analyst whose succinct and accessible talk about the benefits of public health care was well received. She had some very insightful things to say about that parts of our healthcare system that were expensive (drugs) mainly due to private interests.
